The Hartleyvale Olympic Hockey Centre

Project Name:

Hartleyvale Stadium

Contractor:

Fire Spec Systems cc

The Hartleyvale Olympic Hockey Centre is a world class venue which has hosted both local and international events.
The City of Cape Town needed to replace the existing public address system as it was not able to provide the required sound quality for speech and music nor the correct dispersion patterns.
One of the challenges was to ensure that sound was confined to the main pavilion and part of the field in front of the pavilion. In order to achieve this, the TOA HX-5 Compact Line Array Speakers were utilised and successfully covered the required areas with minimal overflow into the surrounding residential area.
The TOA FB-120 Subwoofers were utilised in conjunction with HX-5’s. These were all driven by TOA DA-550 Digital Amplifiers which provided high quality speech and music reproduction.
